ARM board workshop08. Nov '14
If you've ordered Raspberry Pi, but haven't tried hacking on it yet or if you're interested and don't know which ARM board to buy then this workshop is exactly for you. I'll attempt to bring enough boards so everyone can try out. I am going to mainly focus on Debian/Raspbian in this workshop.

Writing images to memory card
Picking the right distribution eg. Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo, OpenWrt to run on the board
About embedded interfaces: GPIO, UART, I²C, SPI, etc
Connecting to serial console
Getting around on Debian command line
Setting up network interfaces
Gaining secure shell access to the board
Downloading stuff on command line
Running Python web server on the board to communicate with outside world
What is cross-compiling and when it makes sense to do that
Flashing internal Flash, dangers within and recovering from bad flash
Version control basics, cloning a GitHub repository to the board
